Wall of Shame

Online experiences can be rewarding. However, scam artists are preying on surfers in untold numbers. The most unfortunate thing about that fact is, there are very few working mechanisms in place to stop, locate or prosecute these people.

The intention of this segment of the site is to present a list of sites and businesses operating in manors other than good faith. The following list is an example of my own personal experiences.

Offshore Hosting Solutions/Western Union:

    Early in February of 2008 I transferred funds to Offshore Hosting Solutions using a Western Union Money Transfer. The results of this transaction are completely unsatisfactory and unclear. I will present a list of how things stand right now:

  1. I have a hardcopy receipt for cash paid to a local Western Union outlet for the transfer.
  2. The recipient claims “I received no money” and sent capture of online MTCN screen.
  3. Western Union, via 1-800-235-0000, verbally states the money was collected Feb 8, 2008 at 6:36pm. They are in the process of providing a copy of the receipt signed by the recipient.

    4. What really happened is a mystery that may have no means of resolution. Even if this scenario is cleared up, I will never make the mistake of wiring money to an unknown individual again.
