100 Mile House started as a waypoint 100 miles from the beginning of the Cariboo Wagon Road during the gold rush of the 1860's. Since then it has grown into a thriving community steeped in heritage that reflects the ruggedness of it's past.
Often referred to as the Heart of the Cariboo, the 100 Mile House area is a year round playground for people who enjoy the outdoors. Surrounded by hundreds of lakes it is a popular area for fishing and camping. Skiing, snowmobiling and hiking are accommodated by the wilderness and well groomed sets of trails.
